The stigma surrounding mental health in work places and schools

Unlike most countries who are well informed, most places in Africa, lack awareness hence there is usually a negative stigma attached to anyone struggling with one mental issue or the other. Most of them are faced with negative attitude hence they fear being open to others.

The stigma around mental health in workplaces and schools often leads people to hide struggles out of fear of judgment or seeming weak. I think this silence makes things worse. Open dialogue, mental health education, and supportive policies can shift the culture.

I don't know how much mental health help would help anyway. I mean, some are strong on the inside and some aren't, and I think a lot of this strength has to be self-discovered.

The stigma in workplaces and schools often stops people from seeking help. I’ve seen students hide anxiety or colleagues fear judgment. Open conversations, mental health days, and supportive policies can break this silence and create healthier environments.
