Should mental health be a human right?

Sadly there are people who are unable to afford therapy or support for their mental health, maybe their job doesn't cover the payments, or maybe their insurance doesn't help enough. Or maybe they are homeless and can't afford anything. With that being said, should mental health be a human right? As in should hospitals always help someone with mental health issues, even if they can't afford it or they're not covered by insurance? I wish the US had universal healthcare so that everyone is protected, even the severely poor and uninsured. What do you guys think? I know we got a lot of people from other countries here, so I want to hear what it's like for your country. Let me know what it's like in your country and how much the cost of health care. Or does your country have higher taxes and in turn a more universal health care system?

Of course! Everyone deserves access to mental health care, no matter the country. The way people still take depression or anxiety as weakness is appalling especially in Africa. They will tell you to just say “pray it away.” We need better awareness and support systems. Mental health is not a luxury, it’s part of living well.
