How do you push yourself to meet with someone you like?

There is a woman I really like and I want to tell her how I feel. We've been friends for a few years online and have yet to meet in real life. We originally met through a dating site, but I've always been too scare to meet up with her. She has suggested a couple times we meet, but its never happened because I either ignore it, or respond to the idea too late.

Now, she is moving closer to where I live and there's an even bigger chance we could meet. But I am scared to jump in. Can you guys give me advice on how to set up a date and how to actually get through it? I haven't dated much in my life and I'm not great at it. Any tips you can give a guy with social anxiety trying to navigate a possible future date?

I remind myself why I want to connect and focus on the excitement, not the nerves. Sometimes I set small goals, like starting a casual chat first, to build confidence. Taking that first step feels rewarding and opens the door to something good.

Since she has tried to see you several times, why not invit her over this time around? If you are truly serious about your feelings for her, give it a try. Expressing how we feel can truly be scary though but it's something we would have to face eventually.
