How do you handle the constant hate against LGBTQ+ people?

The LGBTQ+ community gets so much hate from people these days, it's still sad that we can't come to some sort of equality. I don't care what you choose to do with your life or body, you're free to do what you want. I am a straight white dude, but I have no issues with the way people live their lives, as long as they're not hurting anyone else, I don't care what you do.

With that being said, I want to ask those who are LGBTQ+ how do you handle the constant hate you get? I imagine the hate varies person to person, but no one should be receiving hate for how they want to live their lives. And now with the offensive talking points about how trans people are committing murders, or gay people are trying to change everyone gay, and other hateful comments.

Why can't people just live their lives and leave others alone?

I live in a country where LGBTQ rights have been enshrined in the constitution. Law recognizes gay marriages and gay parents. Society is also open to LGBTQ people. They are not hated or discriminated. However, exceptions are always there, some LGBTQ people do face stigmatization, some section of the society like to exclude LGBTQ from the rights and privileges.

That's great that your country is for LGBTQ rights, because I wish the US pushed more for equality in that way. Of course there will always be some form of hate towards LGBTQ people, but I'm glad your country is so in support of their equality. May I ask what country you live in?

I am in Nepal. We drafted a new constitution through constitution assembly and LGBTQ community had their leader in the assembly. LGBTQ community can even get a citizenship document as a "third gender," they are not forced to choose a male or female while signing official documents.

@Nomad . I am really so happy to see the progressive mindset of your country. Things are organically accepted in the society when they get legal and constitutional support. India has legalized LGBTQ community. But still, there is no legal recognition of gay marriages. I am hopeful that it would be soon. We see more and more people coming out and more such marriages happening in public eyes. A legal recognition would bring them more into mainstream.

Hate often stems from ignorance and fear. Many LGBTQ+ people cope through supportive communities, activism, and pride. Acceptance grows through empathy, education, and challenging stereotypes—everyone deserves to live authentically without harassment or judgment.

To be fair, the hatred is just too much sometimes. People just forget that everybody deserves peace in this life. I am not LGBTQ, but I still believe they deserve the respect. It's not that we should agree with their ideology, but at least we shouldn't be cruel to them.

Here in India people are too conservative and orthodox, they don't easily accept their son to be a gay. Even if a person is a gay is afraid of accepting it as he scares what society will say.

People don't accept it and mock at such people if they see. They don't get work easily as society don't accept them equally. This is harsh reality.
