Do you block people out because of your depression?

I will say I sometimes block people out when it comes to my mental health. Like, I won't tell some family members how I feel. I only talk to a select few about my personal feelings. But, for the most part, I don't talk about my depression unless it gets really bad. But, what about you? Do you ever block family or friends out because of your depression? How did that have an affect on your life?

I am that person that as the depression sets in, I wish to be left alone. I would always find my corner to stay. Even when my partner talks to me, I would bluff her at that point. But as time passes, I become more receptive to people. That's more of like a day or two. From that point that I let people in, I start recovering from that depression bit by bit.

Yeah, I’ve definitely had times when I pulled back from people because of depression. It wasn’t that I didn’t care, but more that I felt drained and didn’t know how to explain what was going on. It’s tough, but eventually opening up, even a little, helps.
