Do you ever lose interest in your hobbies because of depression?

Have you ever been so depressed that you can't even get a bit of a break with your own hobbies? I've been there, where I've been depressed and I can't jump into a hobby of mine. Like gaming for example. Sometimes if I am really down, gaming does nothing for me. Usually gaming was a way to relieve stress for me, but when I am really in a bad place, sometimes hobbies don't touch it.

Is that the same for you?

When I am depressed, I don’t have a desire to do things that I normally enjoy doing. Well, I should be involved with my hobbies when I am depressed but in a bout of depression, I cannot hand on with hobbies.

No, I've never felt such. To be really honest, I've never understood what depression is. I would be really grateful if someone could teach me. Yes, I have occasionally lost interest in hobbies, although this is more often due to a lack of time than to depression.

Yeah, depression can sap my hobby enthusiasm, making painting feel pointless. When I am depressed I might skip gaming or movies too. I once stopped sketching for weeks because I was very much depressed. Later I forced myself with small doodles, which helped reignite my passion.
