Campus mental health services are often understaffed. With student suicides rising, is peer counseling or teletherapy a viable solution for bridging the gap?
There is nothing much that campus mental services can do to prevent suicide when the school system is not something that students can find ease to go through. When a student is frustrated by unrealistically demanding academic programs and sadist lecturers, depression leading to suicide is bound to happen.
At the end of the day, to be able to prevent all these suicides by students, i think the school has to put in effort to make certain changes, and ensure that the school environment is good enough for students.
