Netflix is not cheap...

I was going through one interview with Netflix CEO. When asked about the biggest competitors that Netflix has, he replied that Netflix has come to a stage when it is not competing with any of the OTT platforms or movie streaming services like Amazon Prime etc. It has crossed that mark a long time back. Now, they are competing with their users, with the sleep of their users. And that's a big statement. Human beings need sleep for their healthy existence. They need it for their mental, physical and emotional health. Netflix wants to have so many shows and movies and other contents at your fingertips that you would evade sleep and go for binge watching.
So,Netflix and other platforms do bring convenience of entertainment at the affordable rate. But are they really cheap? We are paying a huge price there. Think and share your views.

I think our reliance on media can be a problem for our mental health. Netflix is not thinking about our mental health, their purpose is to make as much money for their shareholders and anyone who has stock in the company. Of course they would want people to watch their programming non-stop, but that's just not realistic.

There is also a concern about addiction when it comes to watching media, because Netflix has also allowed people to binge their favorite shows, and some people can have an addictive nature around that.

And don't even get me started on how much the prices keep going up for these streaming platforms. I thought the whole point was to have a service that was affordable and gave you some good stuff. Now days every platform is increasing in price almost yearly.

It is people that are not really in control of their lives that this would affect. I am in total control of my life and I always calculate everything I do. No matter how interesting a Netflix show is, I would drop the phone down and sleep when my bedtime comes.
