I've thought about taking an ice bath before, you know, the one where you put ice in a bath tub, and fully submerge your body. You can choose to dunk your head of not, but you at least sit neck down in a ice bath. Has anyone here ever done one? I know most people do it for recuperating after a big workout or playing a major sport like football, but does anyone here do it just because? Maybe the feeling of being so cold is freeing in a way?
I might do it one of these days, as I'm thinking about getting one of those portable bathtubs. Do you think it's helpful for mental health in any way? I know sitting in a nice warm jacuzzi can be more than just comfortable, it can be rejuvenating on the mind, almost relaxing. So I wonder if there is a similar affect with an ice bath.
