Social Media Detox

Internet overload is common. Have you tried a social media detox? How did it feel? How do you cut back on platforms like Tiktok, Instagram and the likes. What’s the best way to reclaim time from endless scrolling?

I’ve tried social media detoxes and felt more focused and calm afterward. To cut back, I set daily limits and disable notifications. Reclaiming time means replacing scrolling with hobbies or exercise, which helps me stay present and balanced in life.

A social media detox means stepping back to regain focus and improve mental well-being. You can start by setting goals, deleting or limiting apps, and filling the time with hobbies or mindfulness. Reflect afterward to reassess your usage and build a healthier digital routine moving forward.

I'd do one better, instead of just a social media detox, cut out the internet and tech as well, especially your smart phone, tablets, laptops, etc. Social media is just one aspect of the internet. Cutting it out as a whole temporarily, can be great on ones mental health. I think it's ideal to at least take breaks from the internet and tech. A digital detox more like.

I can't take a social media detox unfortunately. I earn 80% of my livelihood from social media. I have developed thick skin and won't allow social media displays affect my mental health. I always know that most of the things we see on social media don't paint the perfect picture.
