Primary Use: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Dosage Forms:

Extended-Release (XR)tablets of 1mg, 2mg, 3mg and 4mg

Common Side Effects:
  • Weight gain
  • Upper abdominal pain
  • Sluggish feeling
  • Drowsiness
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Constipation
Least common side effects:
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Stomach upset
  • Skin pallor
  • Weakness
  • Indigestion
  • Heartburn
  • Dry and Itchy eyes
  • Decreased libido
  • Decreased appetite
  • Belching
Serious side effects:
  • Blurred vision
  • Confusion
  • Depression
  • Increased urination
  • Irregular heart rate
  • Dyspnoea
  • Cough
  • Chest pain
  • Unusual tiredness
  • Dizziness while changing position for lying or sitting
  • Sweating
How long should it be taken?

As advised by the physician.

Effectiveness:
  • There is no systematic evaluation of effectiveness of XR for more than 9 weeks in 6-12 yearand over 15 weeks in 13–17-year-old population.
  • Long term efficacy is still unknown.
