How does someone overcome a school shooting?

Living in the US, you may know there is like a school shooting almost on the daily now. It's a sad state of affairs when we can't figure out how to stop the many mass shootings in this country. I don't get why we can't make changes to protect our children in schools, no kids should have to live in fear that tomorrow could be their last day on earth.

With that being said, I know there's been a lot of school shootings, that means there's been far too many victims of gun violence. And it's not going to end anytime soon, as much as I hate saying that. How are these kids supposed to cope with the aftermath of a shooting? How can kids live a happy life after being a victim like this?

It's a scary situation, I can't imagine most kids even want to go back to school after a shooting. How do kids go back to normal life after?

That is one of the most difficult things that an individual could ever experience. My own opinion is that the government should try to eliminate such kind of act in various schools by creating strict laws on gun acquisition. I believe that survivors must have gone through a lot which is very bad. They will be relieved if they keep talking about it or joining various survivor groups as it could help to recover from such trauma.
