Ever quit cold turkey?

Has anyone quit something, like an addiction to cigarettes or alcohol, cold turkey? For those wondering, quitting cold turkey means to quit a vice right away without doing it slowly. I know some people who have quit cold turkey, my dad used to drink a lot, but as he got older, he couldn't handle the drinking anymore and one day he just stopped drinking. He will sometimes drink a beer or two here or there, but it's relatively rare now days.

I never quit something cold turkey before, but I think it's possible.

Of course, some addictions can't be stopped so easily, especially when you have withdrawal symptoms pop up, so that may be easier said than done. But I think it's possible to quit cold turkey even when you have withdrawals. It may just be a tough week or two to get through. But in the end it's probably worth it.

Quitting cold turkey can be tough but absolutely possible with determination. Many experience intense withdrawals initially, yet perseverance and support systems help. The hardest part is those first weeks, but long-term freedom makes it completely worthwhile.
