Ever wonder if you're the only one in the world that feels a certain way? Well wonder no more. At Is It Just Me? you can find out if you're truly unique or if everyone is really thinking the same thing. Pose a question to the world or send a private question to your friends.
Voting on Questions
When people ask an "Is it Just Me?" you can respond by clicking on the green or square box.
Green means that you think/do/feel the same thing, too; red means that it's just that person and
they're crazy.
Discussing Questions
In addition to voting on whether it's just them or you feel that way too, you can also add comments to every IIJM asked. Maybe you want to assure the asker they're not insane for liking the way blood tastes or maybe you want razz them for it. It's up to you.
How to Ask Questions
Depending on the question, you might just want input from certain people. We've provided several ways to ask your IIJMs.
Questions for Everyone. Have a question that you want the entire world to see and answer? Just type your question and check "Everyone." People all over the world will be able to see and tell you whether you're crazy for thinking that or if you're normal.
Direct Questions for Friends Sometimes you don't want to ask the entire world, just a few friends. Maybe the question is something that only your friends would understand and not some random stranger half way across the world. For questions like this, you can select which IIJM users you want to direct your question to. In order to send a direct question to an IIJM user, you'll need to add them as a friend. Once you've done that, you'll have the option of selecting which friends you want to send the question to. When your friend is signed in, your question will appear in their feed.
Questions to a Group of Friends. You also have an option to form a group of friends. Say you have a group of people you work with and you guys want a place to IIJM about the new office policy or how crappy the coffee is. Just create a group for work and add all your friends to it. After you've created a group, you can just select it in the drop down box and send your question.
Anonymous Questions. Sometimes you might have an IIJM that's just so embarrassing, you don't want people to know that you're asking the question. Maybe you want to know if you're the only one who pees the bed as an adult, thinks about baseball while having sex, or some other weird thing. For questions like these, you have the anonymous option. Just click "anonymous" before you send your question. You'll get the refutation that you're not a weirdo (or confirmation that you are) and no one will be none the wiser that it was you asking.
Bookmarking Questions
Read an IIJM that you thought was funny and/or insightful? Bookmark it by clicking on the star. Friends can see which IIJM threads you've bookmarked so they can give their input on the question as well. If there's a particualr IIJM you don't want your friends to see, make sure to click the star twice so the lock appears. This means the bookmark is private and for your eyes only.
Sorting Questions
When you go to your profile page, you'll see a list of the latest IIJM's that you've sent out to the world so you can see how people are responding to it. You have five ways you can sort your questions:
- Recent
- Popular
- Most discussed
- Most contested
- Most bookmarked
In addition to looking at just your questions, you can sort questions so you can see IIJMs from your friends. Just click on the dropdown box that says "Sort by." You'll have the option to see IIJMs from all your friends, direct questions sent to you from your friends, or see questions from a specific group you've created. You can then sort these lists by most recent, most popular, most discussed, most contested, and most bookmarked.
